W. Pearce We regret very much to chronicle the death of this most estimable citizen which occurred since our last issue. Few citizens of our county were more widely known than Mr. Pearce, and it will be with deepest regret that they learn of his untimely death. He has always taken an active interest in all matters pertaining to the public will, and his activity in this line has given him a wide acquaintance throughout this section. At one time Mr. Pearce held an important office in his native county of Decatur, and was always prominent in democratic councils. He was an enthusiastic Mason and ranked high in these circles. He was a member of the Methodist church and lived a consistent life. All who knew him will remember him as the kindly, courtly gentleman, with ever a pleasant greeting for all. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn with his host of friends his taking away. His children are Mr. M. Joe Pearce, Mr. R. W. Pearce, Mrs. Raymond Sutton, and Miss Gertrude Pearce. The Messenger extends sympathy to the bereaved family in their hour of affliction. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
