Powell Again has the mandate of the Supreme Architect of the Universe, wafted on swifted wings of time visited our Lodge and called from labor to refreshments, our beloved brother, Ambrose S. Powell. The hour of death is a sad one, it always sends pangs of sorrow to the bereaved strickened and the solemnity of the occasion is only exaggerated when this call is so sudden as it was to Brother Powell, while in vigorous manhood and in the prime of life it seems hard that we should be called to re-unite the broken link caused by this departed Brother; yet we know that the Tyler who guards the outer door, was unable to guard from entrance this grim monster Death, and our only hope is to submit to the infinite wisdom of our Heavenly Father. Brother Powell always had a cheerful word to brighten the feelings and brighten the heart of any of his brother Masons. His good humor and cheerful words shall ever be missesd in our hall but, Let fate have her worst there are moments of joy, Bright dreams of the past which we cannot destroy, Which comes in the night time of sorrow and care, And bring back the features that joy use to wear. Brother Powell was a loving husband and a kind father, and in his death his young wife and daughter sustain a great loss. In token of our love for our departed Brother and for the sympathy of his bereaved ones, we offer these resolutions. Resolved 1st. That we bow in humble submission to the infinite wisdom of our Supreme Ruler in the death of our departed Brother. Resolved 2nd. That we extend our sympathy to the bereaved family in this sad hour of affliction. Resolved 3rd. That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon a blank page of our record book and dedicated to his memory; a copy sent to his bereaved family, and a copy sent to the Messenger and one to the Search Light.
