She was in her usual good health and she and her son had gone out to attend the cows and calves and was about ready to return to the house and her little son noticed her falling and caught her and called to the second son who was near. She was carried to the house but she never recovered. The remains were laid to rest in Whigham cemetery by her husband, Mr. Cab Poppell, who preceded her to the bright beyond some two years ago. Mrs. Poppell was a consistent member of the Primitive church. Rev. Hollingsworth conducted the funeral services. She leaves six children, Mrs. Herbert Swatts, Mrs. Tom Prevatt, Miss Bessie Poppell, George, Albert and Bob Poppell; one brother, Mr. Henry Edwards and two sisters, Mrs. W. M. Quinn, Mrs. Tom Maxwell, to mourn her loss. We, with many friends, extend our deepest sympathy to the bereaved ones.
