Cairo Messenger, June 14, 1907 
R. H. Blackwell, one of the veteran coopers for the Cannon Company, died 
Wednesday at 10 o'clock a.m. from a stroke of paralysis.  He retired on the 
night previous, without any complaint, but when found this (Wednesday) morning, 
was rapidly dying.  Physicians were summoned, but were unable to do anything 
for his condition.
