The best medical attention and a trained nurse, besides all that other loved ones did for the young man, was of no avail. Fred was converted and joined the Methodist church during the Revival at Whigham a month ago and his pall-bearers were six other young men who were also converts at the same time. These were Col. Sam Cain, Paul Chestnut, J. J. Kimball, O. C. Spence, Clifford Reynolds and Byron Harrison. The funeral took place at the Methodist church Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. H. P. Stubbs, interment immediately at the Whigham cemetery. The casket was covered with floral designs by many friends and loved ones. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the father and brother, who were called from Charleston to his bedside some ten days before Fred's spirit took its flight to the bright beyond.
