Mrs. Williams had been sick only a short time, possibly two weeks, when she was carried to New Orleans to be with her mother. Every one thought she was improving and would soon be back in our midst when the sad message came telling of the end. There was not a more beloved young woman in town than Mrs. Williams. To know her was to love her. She went about among her friends spreading the sunshine and cheer that so characterized her nature. As a Christian, she identified herself with the Methodist Church as soon as she came to Cairo nearly two years ago and the Church has never had a more persistent and unselfish worker. Her duty to her God and Church always lay nearest her heart. The Messenger joins the town in extending their deepest sympathy to Mr. Williams and the other dear members of the family. May God be their comforter and his hand be seen in their deepest affliction, though it is our loss still it is her gain.
