S. Jaynes On the morning of August 26 the death angel visited our home and took from us our darling mother. Mrs. Harriet Hollams Jaynes was born Aug. 4th 1830 and departed this life August 26th, 1907. She was a long and devoted member of the Baptist church. She loved her church for the cause it represented, whose purpose in life was to bestow deeds of charity upon the needy. She was frequently found on errands of love and mercy. A kind, affectionate wife, mother, sister, friend and neighbor. None knew her but to love her, none named her but to praise, and the many stars that will bedeck her crown will be but an emblem of her purity and virtues in life. She leaves a devoted husband and five children, Miss Fannie Jaynes, of Akridge, Ga., Mrs. W. M. Major of Cairo, Ga., Mrs. W. P. Collins of Cairo, Ga., Mrs. H. H. Cumby of Tallahassee, Fla., Mrs. B. L. Bodiford of Butler, Ga., besides a number of grand children and a host of friends who mourn their loss. Truly a mother in Israel has fallen, ever to dwell in the Paradise of God. The remains of our mother were interred in the cemetery of Pleasant Grove church Aug. 27th, surrounded by a large concourse of friends and loved ones. While earth is poorer Heaven is richer in her death. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
