"Newsy Notes From Whigham"
The sad death of Mrs. D. C. Lane, whose critical illness was chronicled in our 
last week's locals, occurred Thursday night at her home near town.  Mrs. Lane 
was a lady who was loved by all who knew her, and her life had been one of self-
sacrifice, devotion and duty to her children and friends.  She was a devout 
member of the Methodist church.  She leaves 9 children, 5 boys and 4 
daughters.  The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Scoville, at the 
Methodist church, interment in Whigham cemetery.  She was 56 years old.  The 
family have the sympathy of their many friends.
