Cairo Messenger, July 31, 1908
The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Smith will regret to learn of the death 
of their son, Ansley, who died Monday after a very short spell of sickness.  
Ansley became ill last Saturday and died Monday morning.  He was about fourteen 
years of age and had many friends.  His deportment was gentlemanly and he was 
admired by all who knew him.  He was laid to rest in the new cemetery Tuesday 
morning.  The Messenger joins the many friends of the family in sympathizing 
with them in their recent trouble.
