The Cairo Messenger, Friday, December 18, 1908
"Newsy Notes From Whigham"
Mr. Joe Whigham, age about 78, died at his home near town Friday last, after a 
long illness.  He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church.  
Interment Saturday afternoon in Springhill cemetery.  He leaves an aged wife 
and several grand children to mourn his death.
