Singletary Mr. William X. Singletary died at his home near Pine Park last Monday. Mr. Singletary was in his 76th year. He was an old confederate soldier who had answered to the roll call many times during the civil war and had lived such a life as those true soldiers who are waiting the last call and, when this summons came it found him ready to answer to his name which had already been written on those pages so fair. The Messenger tenders condolence to the afflicted family and may He who tempereth the wind to the shorn lamb, bind their bleeding hearts and comfort them, as only He can. Interment took place Tuesday at noon at Pearce Chapel Cemetery with Masonic honors. We learn that Dr. Bouchelle performed the last sad rites.
