F. Richter Dies Last Friday The Messenger's many readers will regret to learn of the death of the above named gentleman, mention of whose illness was made in these columns last week. In an account of his illness we said Emanuel when it should have been Amandus. Mr. Richter had been sick only three weeks with LaGrippe which was the cause of his death at his home some three miles northeast of Cairo, last Friday morning. He was buried Saturday at Long Branch cemetery, the burial services being conducted by Dr. R. H. Harris. Amandus F. Richter, second son of Edward F. Richter. Amandus F. Richter was born February 23, 1854, in Thomas County. His mother died giving him birth. He joined the Baptist church at Long Branch in his early youth. He married Miss Melvina E. Brinson on the 27th day of May, 1883. He left one son, Eugene, and five daughters, Lilly, Rosa, Vira, Estelle and Mary, besides two brothers, Franklin A. and Augustus F., who reside near Pelham, and a mother and grandfather. The Messenger extends condolences to the family, mourning relatives and numerous friends in the loss of husband and father, but we know that the Father knows best, and trust and guidance left to Him is the only panacea for the bleeding hearts of these sorrowing ones in the home of sadness.
