She was converted and united to the Methodist church in early childhood and remained a consistent member until death. In 1867 she was married to J. J. Poulk, who preceded his wife, last July to that city not made with hands; eternal in the Heavens. Three children, a son and two daughters came to grace their home. The son, William H., is the eldest and lives among us, and is a kind and helpful neighbor. The younger daughter, Lula, passed into the Great Beyond in 1900. The other, the wife of Rev. W. J. Hurst, resides in Grady County, Ga. The deceased has been a sufferer for forty-three years, the last twenty of which she was an entire invalid. And during all these years of suffering she never complained, but waited patiently for the hand of God to break the cord that bound her soul to this earthly tabernacle, that she might go to be with Him forever in the skies. She was one who believed in leading her children to Christ, both by precept and example, and her efforts were richly rewarded in that she saw all of her children become followers of the Man of Galilee. Mrs. Poulk was a gentle wife, a loving mother, a kind, compassionate friend and companion and her life shall live after her. The seed that she has sown will ripen and bring forth fruit for many generations to come. Funeral services were conducted at the home of Wm. H. Poulk, by Rev. R. L. Carlisle, and the remains were laid to rest in the Stewart cemetery near Golf. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
