E. Cheshire Passes Away The sudden death, Thursday of last week, of Mr. W. E. Cheshire, came as a surprise to his many friends and acquaintances in Cairo. He had been in the city only a day or so before and, seemingly, in his usual good health. When the news of his demise on Thursday, the 19th inst., was received, it was hard to believe, but such was so true. He was at the home of his sister, Mrs. John Singletary, near Ochlocknee, Ga., when he died, and was laid to rest the following day, Friday, at Bold Springs. Mr. Cheshire was a member of the Methodist church and the burial rites were performed by Rev. C. B. Johnson, surrounded by weeping relatives and sorrowing friends. Mr. Cheshire was single, having never been married. His friends were numerous. No one ever had a harm word to say of "Billy" as he was so well and favorably known in Cairo. To the sorrowing ones we can say, 'tis well, believing that He who notes even the fall of the sparrow has received him and never more will he know sickness nor death.
