V. Clower Is Laid To Rest After a long illness, Mrs. L. V. Clower passed peacefully to rest, at her home in Valdosta, Ga., at the advanced age of 70 years. The remains were laid to rest in the Cairo cemetery last Friday morning at 11 o'clock, Presiding Elder J. M. Outler conducting the funeral ceremony, assisted by Rev. W. C. Jones, J. B. Wight and W. L. Wight. Mrs. Clower was the widow of the Dr. W. P. Clower and was one of the most beloved women that ever lived in Cairo. Mrs. Clower and her lamented husband was noted for their strong personalities, and their home was a center of attraction for the young and old. None of the older couples who were the backbone of Cairo in years gone by, were more universally loved than Dr. and Mrs. Clower. They were noted for their loyalty to church, and all the interests of the community, and many young lives have been touched for good under their guidance. Mrs. Clower left a family of splendid men and women, her sons and daughters, monuments to the fidelity and Christian lives of herself and husband. Hers was an active life, full and complete, and when her final summons came, she departed this life, leaving behind a host of tender memories and devoted friends. May her life be an inspiration and blessing to all who knew her. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
