A. Hand Passed On October 18th Mrs. C. A. Hand passed away at her home in Whigham, Monday afternoon at 3:20, after an illness of about four months. All was done that physicians and loving hands could do, but to no avail. The Heavenly Father needed her. She was of remarkable sweet spirit and loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted wife and a kind and affectionate mother. Before her marriage, she was Miss Minnie Collins, daughter of Mr. H. E. Collins, who now resides 3 miles south of Whigham. In her childhood, she joined Magnolia Baptist Church and remained a consistent member up to the time of her death. Funeral services were held at Magnolia about four o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. J. P. Swann and Rev. Canon officiated. Besides her husband and six children, all of whom are boys, she leaves a father, Mr. H. E. Collins, three sisters, Mrs. Bassil Harrison, Misses Mary and Maggie Collins, and seven brothers, namely: Dr. G. W. Collins, of Whigham; J. H., T. E., J. J., C. C., Malvin and Albert Collins, all of Grady County.
