J. Miller Laid To Rest Last Monday Mr. Thomas J. Miller passed away last Sunday night about eleven o'clock at the home of his father, after a continued illness for several years. The direct cause of his death was diabetes. Mr. Miller was first taken sick twelve years ago with rheumatism which practically made him an invalid for six or eight years. After recovering from this malady, he was taken with the disease which caused him untold suffering and caused his death. "Tom" as he was known by most everyone, was 27 years of age on the 9th day of October. The last sad rites were conducted Monday afternoon at the local cemetery, being conducted by Rev. T. E. Davenport and assisted by Rev. P. C. Barkley, interment following. A very large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives attended the services, many bringing floral offerings which were very beautiful. The deceased is survived by his wife, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Miller, three brothers, Messrs. A. W. Miller, J. W. Miller and A. L. Miller, and two sisters, Mrs. R. R. Jones and Miss Kate Miller, besides a host of relatives and friends. The Messenger joins the friends of the family in extending condolence to the bereaved ones in their hour of affliction.
