Cairo Messenger, January 9, 1920
Mrs. Caroline Owens Dies Monday Night

Mrs. Caroline Owens, after an illness of one week, passed away last Monday 
night about midnight.

She was about 85 years of age and was twice married.  In her youth she was 
married to Mr. Foy Jones.  Sometime after his death, she was married to Mr. Dan 
Owens, he preceded her to the grave 38 years ago.  She had been a member of the 
Centennial Methodist church since childhood.

Interment took place about 3:30 o'clock in the Centennial cemetery.  On account 
of the cold weather, no funeral services were held.  They will be held at a 
later date.

Only three brothers survive Mrs. Owens.  S. B. Griffin of Cairo, R. W. Griffin 
of Ochlocknee, and T. S. Griffin of West Florida.
