LINDSAY, EMMETT H. (BUDDY) was born on December 7, 1929 in a log cabin in 
Cairo, Georgia and ended his earthly journey on October 5, 2003. He served in 
the United States Air Force from 1951 through 1955, marrying Nancy Cotton in 
November 1955 in Farmers Branch, Texas where he lived and raised his family 
until 1986. He owned & operated Buddy's Texaco and Automotive Service at 
Valwood and Stemmons from 1962 until 2001. Always an avid R.L. Turner High 
School Lion football fan, he held season tickets for forty years and went over 
twenty years without missing any home games and only one out-of-town game. The 
family moved to Argyle, Texas in 1986 and then to Denton. Since retirement he 
has enjoyed his farm he loved in Collinsville, Texas. Baptized at a young age 
in a Georgia creek at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, he lived a life 
assured of his salvation. He joined the First Baptist Church of Argyle in 1986, 
a congregation that he dearly loved. He felt he was blessed by God in his life 
by having a family he cherished. These include his wife Nancy; daughter and son-
in-law Sheridan and Peter Stringer; daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Mike 
Holloway; son David Lindsay, and three beloved grandchildren, McCallan Kate, 
Daniel James, and Luke Henry Stringer. Buddy is also survived by three loving 
sisters Bernice Land of Haltwell, Georgia, Artie Tyler of Albany, Georgia, and 
Sue Ferrell of Thomasville, Georgia and a multitude of special people and 
special friendships. He was adored by his family. Funeral services are Monday, 
October 6, 2003 at 2:00PM at the First Baptist Church of Argyle, Hwy 377, with 
Pastor Jerry Davis officiating. A reception and visitation will follow the 
service. Private burial at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations 
may be made to the Buddy Lindsay R.L. Turner High School Scholarship, c/o Texas

Buddy Lindsay was the only son of the late, "Emmett" Henry David and "Katie" 
Mae White Lindsay. Grandson of the late, Henry and Susie Allen Jenks Lindsay, 
and James Edward & Mary Melvina Parker White.(1st cousin of the submitter)

Military Services followed the Church Services in the Dallas Fort Worth 
National Cemetery.
