The Cairo Messenger, June 16, 1978
Miss Lizzie Gainey died at Grady General Hospital in Cairo on Tuesday, June 13, 
1978 after being ill for about a week.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 1978 at the Clark 
Funeral Home Chapel with Elder O. V. Marshall officiating, interment in the 
Gainey Family Cemetery.  Active pallbearers were Chesley Rehberg, Robert Lane 
Gainey, Horace Gainey, Haywood Gainey, Owen Gainey and John Northcutt.

Miss Gainey was born in Grady County on September 10, 1891 to the late Robert 
Haywood and Tomzil Maxwell Gainey, and she lived her entire life in Grady 
County.

Survivors include a sister, Miss Mary Gainey, a brother, Cullen Gainey, both of 
Cairo and a host of nieces and nephews.

Clark Funeral Home of Cairo in charge of arrangements.
