Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. on February 1, 1978 at the Calvary United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Foxworthy and Rev. Elick Bullington officiating, interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers wer Ronnie Boyett, James West, Tommy and Jeff Voyles, Royce Rackley and Everett Herring. Honorary pallbearers were Dan Jones, Roy Jones, Rob Vickers, Heywood Gainey, Eugene Harrison, Mike Voyles, Jimmy Voyles, Paul Voyles, Tommy Harrell, Dwight Voyles, Leroy Hopkins, Jr. and Coley Voyles. Mr. Boyett was born in Grady County on January 28, 1912 to Mrs. Emma L. Lowe Boyett of Whigham and the late Bob B. Boyett. On September 28, 1936 he was married to Ida Belle Voyles, who survives. He spent his lifetime in Grady County, worked as a farmer, member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and the Grady County Farm Bureau. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: two daughters, Mrs. Samuel M. (Evelyn) Davis, Powder Springs, Ga. and Mrs. Thomas L. (Shirley) Pritchett, Moultrie, Ga.; six grandchildren, Lisa Davis, Marion Davis, both of Powder Springs, Ga., Dane Pritchett, Traci Pritchett, Dusty Pritchett, and Gabe Pritchett, all of Moultrie; his mother, Emma L. Boyett of Whigham; two brothers, Arthur and Casey Boyett, both of Cairo; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Porter, Whigham. Clark Funeral Home of Cairo in charge of arrangements.
