Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 7, 1978 at 2 p.m. at the Piedmont Primitive Baptist Church of Calvary with Elder Ted Folmar and Elder O. V. Marshall officiating, interment in the Piedmont Cemetery. Active pallbearers were grandsons: Louis Butler, James Butler, Judd Butler, Joye Butler, George Hunter, Randy Hersey, Robert Butler and Terry Hunter. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Primitive Baptist Churches in the Flint River Association serving as honorary escort. Mr. Butler was born in Grady County on October 7, 1893 to the late Henry Moore and Andelia Trulock Butler and was married to the former Miss Pearl Lee on January 4, 1923 who survives. Mr. Butler spent a lifetime in this area, he moved from Grady County in 1937 to Quincy where he farmed until his return to this county in 1951. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Piedmont Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Butler's survivors, in addition to his wife, his children, Raber Butler, Ermon Butler, both of Calvary, H. M. Butler, and Joe M. Butler, Quincy, Fla., C. Bob Butler, Tallahassee, Fla., Virgil Butler, Gretna, Fla., Mrs. Clarence Simon, West Minester, Calif., Mrs. George Hunter of Lake City, Fla., Mrs. Charlie Hersey, Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Harold Genton of Washington C. H., Ohio; 1 brother, Paul Butler, Havana, Fla., 7 sisters, Mrs. Ruby Thomas of Huntsville, Ala., Mrs. Alice Carr, Mrs. Emmie McCall, Mrs. Lula Davis, all of Gainesville, Fla., Mrs. Janie Cox, Mrs. Sallie McBride, both of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Eldice Jones, Lake Placid, Fla.; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
