Booth were held Tuesday, March 5 at Clark Chapel with Elder O. V. Marshall officiating. Mr. Booth passed away in an Athens Hospital Sunday, March 3, following a lengthy illness. Interment was in Tired Creek Cemetery with Ned Holton, Jerome Dixon, Johnny Booth, Gwin Booth, Murry Booth and John Ulmer as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of American Legion Post 122. The son of James Thomas and Artie Missie Sasser Booth, he was born in Grady County on November 7, 1897. He married the former Miss Leslie Dixon in February 1941. A lifetime resident of this county he was a retired carpenter. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Janice Ward of Athens, one son, Carl L. Booth of Bainbridge, Maryland, two sisters, Mrs. Eula Sholar of Moultrie and Mrs. Irene Ulmer of Whigham and two grandchildren. Clark Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
