The Cairo Messenger, June 1, 1979
Mr. Charles Henry Barrett passed away on Sunday, May 27, 1979 at the Archbold 
Memorial Hospital following an illness of several weeks.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 1979 at the Reno 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Reed and Rev. Wendell Ezell officiating.  
Interment was in the Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  Active 
pallbearers were Billy and Russell Barrett, Randy Spires, Curtis and Clarence 
Lambert, Elmer Baggett, John Collins, and Andy Collins.

Mr. Barrett was born in Decatur County, Georgia on October 29, 1892 to the late 
Jim and Susan Williams Barrett.  He was married to Linnie Kelly Barrett on June 
6, 1910 who preceeded him in death on November 22, 1978.  He was a retired 
farmer and a member of the Reno Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, J. D. Barrett of Calvary, Ga.; six daughters, Mrs. 
Ruth Baggett of Reno, Ga., Mary Baggett of Reno, Ga., Gertrude Dalton of 
Hardaway, Fla.,Dorothy Martin of Camilla, Ga., Lizzie Harrison of Jax, Fla., 
and Martha Ledbetter of Camilla, Ga., 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 
and 7 great great grandchildren.

Clark Funeral Home of Cairo was in charge of arrangements.
