Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17th, at the First United Methodist Church of Cairo with Rev. Bobby Davis officiating. Interment followed in Tired Creek Methodist Church Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers including Everett Allen, Clyde Ulmer, Clifford Ulmer, Wayne Ulmer, Leroy Ulmer and Fred McNair. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Sally Lou Robinson Sunday School Class and the Annie Laurie Circle of which Mrs. Joyner was a member. Born in Climax, Georgia on August 21, 1907, to the late Robert E. and Evelyn Williams Allen, she was married to Clarence I. Joyner who preceded her in death on September 20, 1979. She was a homemaker and member of Cairo First United Methodist Church, the Sally Lou Robinson Sunday School Class, the Annie Laurie Circle and the Cairo Woman's Club. Survivors include her sons and their wives, Jerry and Marilyn Joyner, Cairo, and Gene and Carolyn Joyner, Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren, Robert and Jeffrey Joyner, Cairo, Andy and Angela Joyner, Cairo, Danny, Stephen and Kenneth Joyner, Tallahassee, and Sharon and Frank Gandy, Tallahassee; great grandchildren, Andy, Jr. and Elizabeth Joyner, Cairo; a brother, Francis E. Allen, Cairo; and four sisters, Kathryn Davis and Virginia Allen, both of Cairo, Martha Brock, Whigham, Georgia and Eleanor Cassels, Hapeville, Georgia.
