Bessie Mildred Maxwell Ponder, 80, of Hialeah, Florida, a former resident of 
Whigham, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 1991, at Hialeah Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 27th, with Elder John Townsend 
officiating.  Interment followed in Southern Memorial.

Active pallbearers were Daniel Ponder, Elbert Maxwell, Dwight Maxwell, Ralph 
Blanton, Ed Blanton and Duke Adkinson.

Ms. Ponder was born in Grady County, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas 
Carl Maxwell and she later married Daniel Alvin Ponder, who preceded her in 
death.

Survivors include her son, Daniel R. Ponder, of Atlanta, Georgia and Miami, 
Florida; daughter, Marion P. Blanton, Hialeah; two brothers, Elbert Maxwell of 
Sanford, Florida, and Dwight Maxwell of Secaucus, New Jersey; four 
grandchildren, Carol Palestrant, Kim Ponder, Kathy Adkinson, and Ed Blanton; 
and four great grandchildren.
