Graveside services for Mr. Rogers were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 1985 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Vada, Ga. with the Rev. Wayne Meadows officiating. Serving as active pallbearers were James Weeks, Skeeter Weeks, Huey Joe Weeks, David Johnson, Doug Gregg, Billy Newmons. Mr. Rogers was born in Vada, Ga. on August 9, 1911 to the late Thomas and Minnie Sullivan Rogers. He was married to Cemma D. Howzs who preceded him in death Nov. 4, 1981. He was a retired plumber and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include 3 daughters Judy Ridings, Mobile, Ala., Sandra Drake, Norfolk Va., Susan Morgan, Cairo, Ga.; 2 sons, Terry Rogers, Columbus, Ohio, and Tim Rogers of Cairo, Ga.; 3 sisters, Ella Mae Singletary and Myrtle Hurst both of Birmingham, Ala., Sarah Yeary of Warner Robins, Ga.; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
