The Cairo Messenger, April 13, 1990
Henry Maurice Gainous, 62, Jacksonville, Florida, passed away in Jacksonville 
on Monday, April 2, 1990.

Funeral services were held at the Cairo Church of God on Thursday, April 5th at 
2 p.m. with Rev. Terrell Taylor and Rev. Dawdy officiating.  Interment followed 
in Greenwood Cemetery.

C. L. Roach, Eric Roach, Glen Gainous, Jr., Ricky Wisham, Dennis Darus and 
Dennis Wolfe served as active pallbearers. 

Born in Grady County, Georgia, April 8, 1927 to the late Clisby Gainous and 
Preshia Wilder Gainous, he married the former Louise Watkins.  He had been a 
resident of Jacksonville for the past 39 years.  Mr. Gainous was a plasterer 
and a member of Southpoint Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Watkins Gainous, Jacksonville; two 
daughters, Elizabeth G. Dickerson and Janet G. Mouzon, both of Jacksonville; 
two brothers, Glen C. Gainous, Jacksonville and Maynard L. Gainous, Kokomo, 
Indiana; a sister, Donice G. Roach, Cairo; mother, Mrs. Preshia W. Gainous, 
Cairo; and six grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Miller Funeral Home of Cairo was in charge of arrangements.
