Carroll passed away at her home about ten miles north of Cairo at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, January 7, after a short illness of about three days. The funeral service was at Pine Forest Baptist Church at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon with the Rev. Jack Reneau officiating. Interment was in Pine Forest cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were T. J. Ansley, Albert Ansley, Wilbert Ansley, Barney Sadler, Robert Carroll and Bennie Carroll. The honorary pallbearers were Basco Sadler, Melton White, Bill White, Cecil Warren, Edward Sadler and Homer Ansley. The deceased was born in Dade County, Alabama on October 15, 1873, the daughter of the late Childree Goodson. She had made her home in Grady County, Georgia for about fifteen years. Her husband died in 1940. Mrs. Carroll was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are three sons, Jesse Carroll, Mitchell County, K. T. Carroll, Pelham, John Wesley Carroll, Rt. w, Meigs; two daughters, Mrs Willie Mae Sadler, Mitchell County and Mrs. Margarite Ansley, Rt. 2, Pelham; thirty four grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
