Bob Hall will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Griffin died March 7, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 3, 1923 in Grady County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Wiley R. and Martha Aleta Jones Griffin. On January 10, 1943, he married Edna Lynn Edmonds, who survives. Mr. Griffin was a World War II veteran having served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. He was a member of Dawson Street United Methodist Church and Lifeline Ministries Inc. He was a lay minister, song evangelist and former Christian Counselor for the Georgia Board of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No.369 F & AM where he served as chaplain. He is a recently retired member of the Thomasville City Planning and Zoning Commission. Other survivors include a daughter, Sandra Griffin of Waynesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Horton Jr. and Janet Griffin of Orange Park, Fla.; sister, Ruth G. Murray of Alexandria, La.; grandchildren, Lynn Griffin Boone and Jim Broone of Orange Park, Lynda Griffin Dotson and John Dotson of Middleburg, Fla., Robert Hunter Parrish, III and Denise Parrish of Waynesboro, Nancy Parrish of Atlanta, Lydia Griffin Haydu and Matt Haydu of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; great- grandchildren, Devon Blair of Middleburg, Fla., Kaley Lynn Boone of Orange Park, Dylan Martin of Jacksonville Beach, Tyler Griffin Boone of Orange Park, Larissa Haydu of Jacksonville Beach, Dalaina Dotson of Middleburg; numerous neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, four sisters and two brothers. Memorials may be made to Lifeline Ministries Orphanage.
