Mrs. Clark was born in Castalian Springs, Tenn. on January 12, 1894. Her parents were the late Samuel B. Gilmore and Mary Bernice Jones. Her maternal grandfather was General Addison Jones who received many decorations in the Civil War and many of his war momento's are on display in the Smithsonian Institute. She was educated at private schools, Bledsoe Acadamy and Peabody College, Nashville, Tenn. She came to Grady County from college to teach in the county schools, and met and married Norwood Clark who preceded her in death on February 24, 1938. She is survived by one son, Henry Norwood Clark, Jr., seven daughters, Mary Bernice Midgett, Baltimore, Md., Nonie C. Johnson, Vortelle C. Pinkard, Norfolk, Va. Nancy C. Ellen, Chesapeake, Naomi C. Kalin, Whigham, Ga., Jean C. Shaw, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Elizabeth C. Ealy, Virginia Beach, Va., her stepmother, Mrs. Carrie Gilmore and half brother, John W. Gilmore, Castalian Springs, Tenn. 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Whigham Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 6, by the Rev. Albury, assisted by Rev. Leon VanLandingham; special music by Mrs. Albury, assisted by Mrs. Ina Grace King. Clark Funeral Home was in charge of services, with burial in Whigham Cemetary. CARDS OF THANKS The family of the late Mrs. Jessie G. Clark wants to thank all the kind people in Grady County for all the many considerations shown them during their mothers last illness and the food, flowers and visits to the family at her death. A special thanks to many kind nurses at Grady General Hospital, Dr. Hancock and a special thanks to her Bearers, Cecil Gibbs, Cecil Crew, Elmer Crew, James Cox, Sonny Cox, and W. H.
