The Cairo Messenger, March 28, 1947
Mr. George Augustus Ort, 40, died at his home at 7:20 pm, Saturday afternoon 
after a long illness.

He was born at Fort Gaines, November 27, 1906, the son of Mrs. E. P. Ort, Sr., 
and the late Mr. Ort.  His home had been in Albany since 1924.  He was active 
with the social and business activities of that city.  He was a member of the 
First Baptist Church of Albany.  Prior to his residence in Albany he made Cairo 
his home.

He is survived by his wife and one son, George A. Ort, Jr., and two brothers, 
Messrs. Harry and E.d Ort of Albany
