Margaret Prince Courtney

Services for Margaret Prince Courtney, 90, Cairo, are at 3 p.m., Wednesday, 
April 9, 2003 at Capel Baptist Church in Cairo. The Rev. Robert Crapps, the 
Rev. Curtis Eason and the Rev. Freeman Allen will officiate and interment is in 
Capel Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Jimmy Cook, Randy Smith, Jerry Kines, 
Larry Ulmer, Ladon Sellers, Bruce Jesson and Craig Brock. Honorary pallbearers 
are members of the Capel Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Born July 3, 1912 in 
Grady County, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah (Boy) and Alice Johnson 
Prince. She was married to Arthur Courtney who preceded her in death in 1969. A 
lifetime resident of Cairo, she had been employed in food service with Grady 
General Hospital and a member of Capel Baptist Church. Mrs. Courtney was the 
last living charter member of Capel Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, 
Maneus Courtney of Cairo; daughters and son-in-law, Catherine Lacy of Cairo, 
Alice C. and Larry McCorkle of Cairo; grandchildren, Frank and Jane Courtney, 
Keith and Alicia Lacy, Art and Christie Courtney, Joy and Jason Hickey, Allison 
and Joel Bass all of Cairo, Laura and Ben Brinkley of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-
grandchildren, Trey, Ashlea, Hunter and Fisher Courtney, Kenan and Ansley Lacy, 
Ashley and Courtney Wells, Courtney and Brock Morrison, Judson Hickey, Garrison 
and Parker Courtney. Memorials may be made to Capel Baptist Church, c/o Randy
