Parker, 69, were held at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Parker, who was born in Cairo, Ga., passed away recently. He grew up in Georgia and then enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. He served for 22 years as a gunner on B-36 and B-52 bombers, retiring in 1972. Mr. Parker married Marlene Sandall in 1953 in Coeur d’Alene. The couple moved to Coeur d’Alene after his military retirement, and he began working for the Forest Service. Mr. Parker attended North Idaho College and received a business degree. He retired from the Forest Service in the early 80s. He was a member of the 92nd Bomb Wing Association and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed collecting coins and fishing. Survivors include his wife; three children, Steve Parker Jr., Post Falls, Michael Parker, Otis Orchards, and Pamela Parker, Lewiston; a brother, Clifford Parker, Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Elbana Barrett, Land O’Lakes, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, Id. 83835 Additional Comments: Steve was born September 28, 1933. Date of death June 13, 2003 Funeral and Burial date: June 17, 2003 Steve was a son of Frank and Myrtice Barlow Parker. They lived on Bold Springs Road and that is where Steve grew up, along with his brother Clifford and sister Elbana.
