He was slightly more than 25 years of age and his daughter was 2 years and nine days old. Flu-pneumonia was the cause of their deaths. Mr. Stanaland had been in ill health for some time, but he resisted an attack of flu-pneumonia only a few days. He leaves a devoted wife, a son, father, two brothers and one sister, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Elsewhere in this issue appears an obituary. In Memory of Sam Stanaland and Daughter, Doris On Feb. 18th, God called for Sam to change his abode from earth to Heaven and then needed one more angel amidst His shining throne, so on Jan. 19th, 1920, he came and bade our little Doris follow him. A little while on earth she spent, Till God for her, an angel sent. Sam was in ill health for a few years before his death, but he seemed to bear it all with patience. He said that if it was God's will, he was ready to go. They both died of influenza and pneumonia. Sam was 25 years and 5 days old. Doris was 2 years and 9 days old. Sam leaves a devoted wife, a loving son, a father, two brothers and one sister. Doris leaves a kind and loving mother, a sweet brother, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn their going away. It was so hard to give them up, we can only be submissive to His call. God's will be done, not ours. Farewell, Sam and Doris, for you to leave us makes us sad, but your residing with Jesus should make us glad. Written by their sister-in-law and aunt.
