The Cairo Messenger, January 30, 1920
A marriage of much interest was solemnized at the home of the bride's mother, 
Mrs. C. C. Walden, on Jan. 18th at 3 p.m. when Mr. Arvis C. Ulmer and Miss 
Rixford Walden were solemnly united in the holy bonds of matrimony.

Elder Wm. Hollingsworth of Whigham performed the ceremony in his usual happy 
style.

The attendants were Misses Claudia Ulmer and Jessie Sasser, Messrs. Arthur and 
Tallie Walden.

Miss Mamie Sasser of Meigs, Ga., rendered a beautiful March while the 
attendants with the bride and groom in the rear assembled on the porch in view 
of their many relatives and friends, while the ceremony was being performed.

The bride wore a beautiful tailored suit of brown with hat and shoes and gloves 
to harmonize.

The groom also wore a suit of brown.

After the ceremony and contratulations were extended, several useful and 
appropriate presents were presented, consisting of silver ware, crockery, cut 
glass, table linen, etc.

Late in the afternoon, the happy couple, together with several friends and 
relatives, motored to the home of the groom's parents where an ideal supper was 
served.

The bride is an attractive and very popular young lady and numbers her friends 
by her acquaintances.

The groom is the son of Mr. Clayton Ulmer of this county and a very popular 
young farmer.

They are to reside at their farm home near Whigham.

Many wishes for a happy voyage on the matrimonial sea.
