All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Collins http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00011.html#0002523 January 3, 2009, 4:03 pm Written: August 1, 1830 Recorded: July 26, 1831 Greene County, Georgia Deed Book KK, p. 409 Caldwell to Caldwell Georgia } Greene County } This Indenture made this twenty first day of August one Thousand eight hundred and Thirty between Littleton D Caldwell of the County of Greene and state of Georgia of the one part and William Caldwell of the said County and State aforesaid on the other part Witnesseth that the said Littleton D Caldwell for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth Bargain and sell unto the said William Caldwell all that tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the county & state aforesaid on the waters of the beaverdam of Richland Creek adjoining lands of Veazy Roberts Moore and others and runs as follows beginning at a pine and running North Twenty eight degrees East Twenty four chains to a post oak thence North fifteen West Eighteen chains and eighty one links to a Black oak thence North eighty five degrees West nineteen chains and Twenty links to a post oak thence North sixty degrees and thirty minutes west twenty five chains and fifty links to a red oak thence north twenty five degrees East twenty five chains and forty links to a post oak thence North eighty five West fourteen Chains and thirty links to a Willow thence South sixty nine West fourteen chains to a stake thence south eighty five West twenty four chains to a poplar thence north fifty five degrees West fourteen chains and eighty links to the mouth of a small Branch thence down the meanders of the creek from the mouth of the said Branch to a pine thence to the beginning containing three hundred and seventy six Acres be the same more or less together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances unto the aforesaid tract of Land belonging or in any wise appertaining to the same the gin and gin house only Excepted to have and to hold the said tract of land and all and singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging as aforesaid unto the said William Caldwell his heirs and Assigns to them and their own proper use and benefit and behoof and the said Littleton D Caldwell doth bind himself his heirs administrators Executors and Assigns unto the said William Caldwell his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns to Warrant & forever defend the said tract of land against the lawful Claim or claims of any & every other person or persons whatsoever in Witness whereof the said Littleton D Caldwell hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written Signed sealed and delivered in presence of us Sanford Hartgroves Littleton D Caldwell Edmund M Butler W.
