All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Collins http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00011.html#0002523 January 15, 2009, 4:39 pm Written: December 28, 1799 Greene County, Georgia Deed Book 3, p. 399 Georgia } Greene County} This Indenture made twenty eight day of Decmbr. in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine and in the twenty fourth year of the Indepency of the United States of America Between James and John Colwell of the county of Columbia of the one part and George Reid of the aforesaid County of the other part Witnesseth that the said James & John Coldwell for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and seventy seven Silver dollars to them in hand paid by the said George Reid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargaind sold releas’d and confirm’d and by these presents do grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said George Reid his heirs and assigns all that tract of land containing two hundred and thirty six acres situated lying and being in the county of Greene on the waters of richland creek Originally Granted to Peter Culbreath Beginning on James Culbreaths white oak corner thence South thirty east to a pine corner on said line thence north sixty East forty eight chains to a pine corner thence north thirty west forty eight chains to a pine corner thence South sixty west forty eight chains to the beginning corner together with all and singular the rights members and appertainances thereof whatsoever to the said tract of land being belonging or in any wise appertaining and the remainders reversions rents Issues and profits there of and of every part thereof To have and to hold the said tract of land and all and singular the premises and appertainances thereunto belonging aforesaid and every part thereof unto the said George Reid Senr. his heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said George Reid his heirs and assigns for ever and the said James & John Coldwell and their heirs the sd. tract of land and premises aforesaid and every part thereof unto the said George Reid his heirs and assigns against them the said Jas & John Coldwell and their heirs and wives Dowery and all and every other person and persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend in fee simple by these presents In witness whereof the said Jas & John Coldwell hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year first above written Signd seald & deliverd in the presents of us Geor.
