Witnesseth that the said Thomas Davis for divers good causes & considerations him thereunto moving but more especially for & in consideration of the sum of eighty pounds two shillings sterling to the said Thomas Davis in hand already paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied contented & paid have bargained sold & by these presents do grant bargain sell alien infeof convey & confirm unto the said John Ogletree & to his heirs or assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the county of Greene aforesaid & on the south side of Richland Creek joining Thomas Houghtons land on the north & creek sides William Danulles land on the East Robert Currys land on the south & Joshua Houghton on the west beginning at a burch on the branch of the creek running thence South nineteen chains to a ded pine. Thence East fifty-six chains to a hickory thence North twenty four chains to a white oak in the low grounds of the creek & near a spring Thomas Houghtons corner tree and with his line divided the spring & along a line of marked trees until the said line strikes Richland Creek at a hickory near the mill shoal and thence down the meanders of the creek unto the begining containing one hundred & thirty three and a half acres of land. The same land whereon the said Thos. Davis lately dwells and the said John Ogletree now dwells. To have & to hold the aforesaid one hundred thirty three & one half acres of land with all the housing plantation, woods & underwoods and all other the improvements & issues profits & immoluments whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said John Ogletree & unto his heirs or assigns forever & that free & clear of, from all former deed or deeds mortgage or mortgagees dowery or doweries & every other let or hindrance whatsoever & the said Thomas Davis & Elizabeth his wife doth hereby agree to & with the said John Ogletree & his heirs assigns forever that they have full powers legal right & lawful authority to make this deed & every part & parcel thereof & that free & clear of all former bargains & sales & let or hindrance whatsoever or that the afore one hundred thirty three and one half acres of land & premises now is & shall remain unto the said John Ogletree & to his heirs or assigns a true perfect & indefeasible state of inheritance in fee simple forever. And the aforesaid Thos. Davis for himself his heirs executors or administrators doth further covenant & agree to & with the said John Ogletree & his heirs assigns forever to warrant & defend the right & title of the aforesaid land & premises from him the said Thomas Davis & his heirs of assigns and each and every other person or persons whatsoever claiming or hereafter lawfully to claim the same or any part or parcel thereof so that the same now & forever shall remain unto the said John Ogletree & to his heirs or assigns forever a true perfect & indefeasible estate in fee simple. In Witness whereof we the said Thomas Davis and Elizabeth his wife have hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals the day & date first above written.
