All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Collins http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00011.html#0002523 January 10, 2009, 5:54 pm Written: January 21, 1802 Recorded: January 11, 1804 Greene County, Georgia Deed Book 3, pp. 733-734 This Indenture made this twenty first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two Between Thomas Eliot of Greene County & State of Georgia of the one part and William Caldwell of Oglethorpe County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Eliot for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and fifty Dollars to him in hand paid by the said William Colwell before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Thomas Eliot doth hereby acknowledge and himself fully contented satisfied and paid Have given granted bargained sold aliened and confirmed and by these present doth give grant bargain sell alien & confirm unto the said William Caldwell his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Greene and State aforesaid on the waters of the beaverdam of Richland creek beginning at and Oak Reuben Edwards’s Corner thence running along William Houghtons line South forty five degrees East thirty three chain and fifty links to a Gum Corner thence along Joshua Houghtons jr line South Sixty two degrs. west twenty two chs to an ash corner thence along his other line South thirty three degrs. East ten chain to a white Oak corner thence along Beaver’s line South thirty five degrs West twenty one chs. to a post Oak Corner thence along Saml and Barnes Holloways lines North forty five degrs. West thirty nine chain & fifty links to a pine said Edwards’s corner thence along his line to the beginning containing one hundred and fifty eight and one half acres be the same more or less Together with all the appertenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining in and to the premises as aforesaid and to have and to hold the abovesaid tract of land and premises with the appertenances unto him the said William Caldwell his heirs and assigns forever and he the said Thomas Eliot his heirs Executors and administrators doth promise and agree to and with the said William Colwell his heirs and assigns to warrant secure and forever defend the above said land and premises with the appurtenances unto him the said William Colwell his heirs Execrs. admrs. and assigns for ever against him the said Thomas Eliot his heirs Executors admrs. and assigns and against the lawfull claims of all manner of person or persons whatsoever will warrant secure and for ever defend by these presents In Witness whereof he the said Thomas Elliot hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year as first above written signed sealed & delivered in presence of Wm Guer I.
