Between John Ellis of the county & State aforesaid of the one part & Samuel Black of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Ellis for and in consideration of the sum two hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged hath panted bargained & sold and by these presence doth grant bargain sell and conform unto the said Samuel Black his heirs one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the aforesaid County of Green on the Beaverdam Creek containing by estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows, Beginning at a corner gum on said creek thence North thirty degrees West thirty seven chains & thirty links to corner pine thence new line South thirty East thirty seven chains to a maple on the said creek thence down the same as it to beginning. To have and hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular appurtenances and appendages to the same or any part thereof belonging or in any wise appertaining and the said John Ellis for himself his heirs doth covenant promise to warrant and for ever defend the same to him the said Samuel Black his heirs and assigns foe ever against him the said John Ellis his heirs also against the claim or claims of all & every person or persons whatsoever. In Witness where of he the said John Ellis hath hereunto set his and affixed his seal the day and date above written Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Henry Carleton James Johnson John X Ellis The above deed was duly proved by the oath of Henry Carleton & James Johnson before me the 27th Dec. 1795 Thos.
