All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bob Ellis Rellis3357&aol.com and Linda Ellis July 19, 2008, 1:31 pm Written: December 5, 1801 John Ogletree to Robert Curry Greene County, Georgia, 5 December 1801 This Indenture made the fifth day of Decembr in the twentieth fourth year of American independence & in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred between John Ogletree & Mary his wife of the county of Lincoln & state of Georgia of the one part & Robert Curry of the County of Greene of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Ogletree for divers good causes & considerations him thereunto moveing but more especially for & in consideration of the sum of hundred and thirty four dollars to me the said John Ogletree in hand allready paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge myself fully satisfied contented & paid have bargained & sold & by these presents do grant bargain sell alleen enfeofe convey & confirm unto the said Robert Curry & to his heirs or assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County of Greene aforesaid & on the south side of Richland Creek joining Thomas Houghton land on the north & creekside Henry Parrels land on the east Robert Currys on the south & Joshua Houghton on the west begining at a branch on the bank of the creek running thence south ninety chains to a dead pine thence east fifty six chains to a hickory thence north twenty four chains to a white oak in the low grounds of the creek and near a spring near Thomas Houghtons corner tree thence with his line dividing the spring & along a line of marked trees untill the same line strikes Richland Creek at a hickory near the mill shols and thence down the meanders of the creek untill the beginning containing one hundred & thirty three & one half acres of land the same lands whereon John Ogletree did live. To have & to hold the aforesaid one hundred & thirty three & half acres of land with the improvement thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said Robert Curry & unto his heirs or assigns forever & that free & clear of & from all former deed or deeds mortgager or mortgages dowery or dower & every other let or hindrance whatsoever & the sd. John Ogletree & Mary Ogletree his wife doth hereby agree to & with the said Robert Curry & his heirs or assigns forever that they have full power rightful & lawful authority to make this deed & every part & parcel thereof & that free & clear of all former bargains and sales let or hindrance whatsoever so that the aforesaid one hundred and thirty three & one half acres of land & premises now is & shall remain unto the said Robert Curry to his heirs or assigns a true perfect & indefeasable estate of inheritance in fee simple forever & the aforesid John Ogletree for himself his heirs executors or administrators doth further covenant & agree to & with the said Robert Curry & his heirs assigns forever to warrant & defend the right & title of the aforesaid land & premises from him the sd. John Ogletree his heirs or assigns each & every other person or persons whatsoever claiming or hereafter lawfully to claim the same or any part or parcel thereof so that the same now & forever shall remain unto the said Robert Curry & to his heirs or assigns forever we the sd. John Ogletree Mary his wife In witness whereof hath hereunto set their hand & affixed their seal the day & date first above written.
