This Indenture made this Thirteenth day of March eighteen hundred & Seventeen 
between Thomas Sparks of the State of Georgia Putnam County of the One part & 
William Coldwell of sd State & Greene County of the other part  Witnesseth 
That I the Said Thomas Sparks for and in Consideration of the Sum of Three 
hundred & forty four Dollars to me in hand paid by the sd William Coldwell the 
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargain & sold & do by these 
presents grant bargain Sell & Confirm unto the Said William Coldwell all that 
Tract or parcel of Land Situated lying & being in Greene County & State 
aforesaid on the waters of Shoulderbone adjoining the Lands of Taylor Nelson & 
Henry Miller & a Tract of Land Known by the name of the Old Fort as far as the 
Greenesborough road Leading from Greenesboro to the Widow Mapps from thence 
along Said road till John McGaughs Land Thence with McGaughs Land until Moses 
Greers Thence along Sd. Greers Lands till the Beginning on Taylor Nelsons Land 
Containing by Estimation One hundred & Seventy five Acres be the Same more or 
Less being a part of a Survey of Land Granted to Sd Sparks and I the sd Thomas 
Sparks do hereby bind myself heirs & assigns unto the said William Coldwell 
his heirs &c to warrant & forever Defend the aforesaid Tract of Land with all 
& singular the rights and appurtenances from all manner of person or persons 
to his and their only use & behoof in a rights of fee Simple forever  In 
Witness whereof I have set my hand & seal the day & year first above written.
