STATE OF GEORGIA  
GREENE COUNTY         

			This indenture made this fifteenth day of April 
Eighteen hundred & Sixteen Between William Tottey of the state and county 
aforesaid of the one part and Thomas Ellis of the same place of the other part  
Witnesseth that the said William Tottey for and in consideration of the sum of 
Two hundred Dollars to him in hand paid the rect whereof is hereby acknowledged 
have granted sold & delivered and by these presents doth sell & confirm unto 
him the said Thomas Ellis his heirs &C certain tract or parcel of land situate 
lying & being in county & state aforesaid containing by estimation sixty acres 
be the same more or less Beginning at a maple corner on the creek thence with 
Thos. Ellises line to a stake on the road thence along the road to a pine on 
Gilbert Shaws line thence along the said Shaws ( now Mattocks )0 line to the 
creek thence to the beginning corner. To have & to hold the aforesaid premises 
with all & singular the appurtenaness therunto belonging to or in anywise 
appertaining & the William Tolley for himself & his heirs doth covenant and 
promise to warrant & for ever defend the recpt of title of said tract of land 
in fee simple unto him the said Thomas Ellis his heirs &C. In witness whereof 
the said William Tottey have hereunto set my hand and seal The day & date above 
written
