We learn that her death was very sudden and that suspicions are entertained that she was poisoned. To all appearances she was in perfect health when last seen alive. After she was found dead, we learn that two letters, which she had written probably the previous day or night, were discovered under her head. One of these letters was addressed to Mr. James R. King of White Plains and the other to her sister. We learn that she spoke positively in these letters that she would be murdered that night. She then went on to declare her wishes about certain dispositions to make of her property. We understand that a post mortem examination developed the fact that the deceased died from the effects of strychnine. A bottle that contained this drug was found under her bed. From the above facts as related to us the most rational theory that occurs to our mind is that this was a case of suicide, and that for some strange reason known only to the deceased, she preferred that her friends believe that she was murdered, rather than to think that she died at her own hands.
