P. Barry Funeral services for T. P. Barry, 58, a longtime Greene County resident, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at McCommons Chapel. Rev. E. A. Kilgore and Rev. Chas. H. Kopp officiating. Mr. Barry was found dead Thursday moring in a creek bed about 3 miles from Greensboro on the Siloam road. He died of exposure authorities said. Coroner W. H. McCommons said the death was definitely an accidental one. It is said that Barry apparently fell off a culvert into the creek bed and broke several limbs, apparently dying from exposure in the freezing weather. A passerby found Barry's body sprawled in the creek bed Thursday morning. His pickup truck was found nearby on Georgia 15. Barry left home Wednesday night to go to the postoffice and was not sen alive since. Mr. Barry was born August 24, 1905, the son of Fred Barry and Fannie Oliver Barry in Clarke County. Mr. Barry was a construction engineer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, Past Master of San Marino Lodge No. 34 Ft. and A. M. Veterans of Foreighn Wars. He was in service in the South Pacific for 3 1/2 years. Survivors are a wife, Mrs. Marion Callahan Barry, of Greensboro; mother, Mrs. D. B. Taylor, Greensboro; sister, Mrs. Robert Gunn, of Marietta; brother, Lt. Fred Barry, of Athens. The pallbearers were Alden Torbert, James West, Arthur Stewart, O. A. Moorhead, Grover Torbert, Charles Withrow and W. B. Evans. Honorary pallbearers were San Maino Masons and members of Evans Bible Class.
