BETHENA BLYTHE, wife of the Rev. Wm. H. Blythe, daughter of Jonathan and Bethena Ward, died in Greene county, Ga., July 25th, 1867, in her 50th year. She embraced religion in early life, joined the M. E. Church, and continued an acceptable member till death. She was raised by pious parents, and reverenced them. She was a prudent wife, kind and affectionate, a humane mistress, much beloved by her former servants, who expressed great sympathy and grief at her funeral. She was a good mother, and reared her children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord; a kind, charitable and peaceable neighbor, greatly beloved by her friends. She was much afflicted for some twenty years, but bore her sufferings with patience, fortitude and Christian resignation. Though death had been long expected, it came suddenly, but she was ready. Her last words were, "I am willing to go." WM.
