Mr. Lunceford Boswell, an esteemed citizen- farmer of the Penfield community, died after many years of semi-invalidism. Mr. Boswell had been in failing health for the last 16 years and had been quite feeble for the last ten. Though a great sufferer and prevented by his illness from taking an active part in the life of his community, yet he bore his physical limitations with uncomplaining fortitude and sweetness of spirit. He was a man of strong religious convictions and deep faith and for many years was an active worker in the Presbyterian Church of Penfield. Like Enoch of old, he walked and talked with God and then suddenly, without warning, he was not for God took him. The funeral was held in the Presbyterian Church of Penfield at 3 o'clock on December 9th, and he was laid to rest in the historic cemetery just out side the village. A large number of friends gathered to pay honor to a truly great man and a very successful Christian. All of Mr. Boswell's immediate family were present at the funeral save one sister, Mrs. Emmie Colclough of Penfield, who was kept at home by ill health. The funeral services were in charge of Rev. L. T. Newland, pastor of the Penfield Presbyterian Church. Mr. Lunceford Boswell was 65 years old at the time of his death and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lunceford Boswell, and the following children, Mrs. Roy A. Roberson, of Atlanta, Mrs. Dave Conger, of Penfield, Mrs. E.D. Lindsey of Greensboro, Mrs. C. J. Hulsey of Atlanta, Mrs. Duncan Caldwell of Atlanta, Miss Annette Boswell of Atlanta, Miss Billie Boswell of Greensboro; also the following sons, Roger Boswell of Miami, Fla., Calvin Boswell, of Cordele, Ga, Johnsey Boswell, Greensboro, Paul Boswell of Greensboro. Beside the immediate family there are two surviving sisters, Mrs. Emmie Colclough and Miss Ella Boswell of Penfield and one brother, Mr. R. B. Boswell of Atlanta. Added to these are twelve living grandchildren. "We asked for health: and faith can almost see His radiant face, his movements swift and strong; With every power quickened, joy- ously His soul is breathing song."
