Spring Street, Greensboro, Ga. died Friday, January 2, 1998. A native of Greene County, he was the son of the late John Sanders Callaway and Frances M. Wilson. He was graduate of Greensboro High school and Presbyterian College. He had lived in Greensboro for 65 years and was the owner and operator of Callaway Sales. Mr. Callaway was a U.S. army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Frist Presbyterian Church of Greensboro, where he served as an Elder. He was past President of the Atlanta Textile Club. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 4, at First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro with the Rev. Brock Burnett officiating. Interment followed at Greensboro City Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Barbara M. Callaway; two daughters, Susan Michelle Worthen of Greensboro and Linda Anne Terry, Atlanta; four sons, W. Reid Callaway and Lamar F. Callaway, both of Greensboro, John R. Callaway, Athens, and G. Sandy Callaway of Watkinsville; two brothers, Col. John Wilson Callaway of Atlanta and T. S. "Tal" Callaway of Statesboro; and 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
