G. Carroll, of Union Point, who was a telegraph lineman, attempted to fix a wire at Social Circle on Thursday. While pulling a nail from a beam he was struck by lightning and instantly killed. He fell across the wire and hung suspended in the air until his body was taken down by means of a rope. He was a good man, highly esteemed by all who knew him.
